The DTX Minnow is a trolling minnow revolution, incorporating innovative design technology such as Nomad Autotune, Hydrospeed, Diamond Armour, and Gorilla Through Wire.Damon Olsen's patent-pending Autotune system was developed after years of testing and is a technological revolution that will be applied to all deep diving lures in the Nomad series in the future. The Autotune design has two major features: a maximum diving depth and the ability to keep the lure swimming straight at all times. An eyelet has historically been attached to the bib of a bibbed minnow lure. It is impossible to assure that this fixed eyelet design is always correctly centred and that the fixed wire eyelet is not bent during the production process. As a result, nearly every bibbed minnow with a fixed wire eyelet in the bib will occasionally fail to swim straight out of the box, or after one or a few fish. The eyelet is either not straight when it is first installed or becomes warped over time. This problem has been solved thanks to Nomad Design's patent-pending Autotune system. The design removes manufacturing issues and ensures that the lure will swim straight no matter how many fish you catch. We had lures that had caught over 50 fish and had been worn through from wahoo and dogtooth teeth to the point of the lure body filling with water during testing, but they still swam properly.No matter how many fish you catch, the DTX minnow with Autotune will always swim straight, the first time and every time. The Autotune system's other standout feature is the incredible diving depth it can achieve. The tow point can be built to be as far back on the bib as feasible, effectively just ahead of the point when the lure becomes unstable and won't swim, thanks to the system's capacity to properly centre itself on the bib every time. Maximum diving depth is achieved by having the tow point as close to this "point of not swimming" as possible, however this can only be done with a perfectly centred tow point. Traditional fixed eyelet trolling lures cannot put the tow point thus far back on the bib and must allow for manufacturing mistake. The DTX 165 and 200 minnows are hooked with our inline single hooks and will reach a maximum depth of 4.5-8kn.
