The Shimano Charter Special range of overhead reels are named so because they are built to stand up to the day-to-day rigors that the New Zealand charter fleet put their gear through.
The Shimano Charter Special's have a massive heavy-duty levelwind mechanism that spreads line evenly across the aluminium spool for novice anglers to quickly learn how to fish without worrying about line bunching up, has a light yet strong XT7 body and is quick and easy to maintain.
Whilst the name suggests these reels are for charter work, they still perform faultlessly in the hands of boaties. This reel is an ideal entry level overhead for anyone wanting to catch blue cod, kahawal, John dory and snapper.

Anti-RustBearings are made of Stainless Steel that has been through the A-RB process. At least 10 times more corrosion resistant than standard Stainless Steel ballbearings. Easy maintenance -no shield design allows for easy flushing of debris and easy lubrication. Increased Bearing Speed-no shield design and lighter viscosity lubrication reduce friction and allow the bearing to spin faster.
